Detailed Design Packages

Full detailed design packages can be tailored to the requirements of each Client but generally include the following elements;

• Initial Consultation

• Garden Survey and Site Analysis

• Conceptual Design, mood boards and initial sketches

• Detailed Design Drawings

• Setting Out Details

• Construction Details can also be included

• Liaison with Planning, Building Control & Structural Engineers if required

Planting Design

This can follow on from a detailed design or can be a stand alone planting design.

Detailed planting plan drawings showing the varieties, positions and numbers of all the plants are produced for each of the borders along with a corresponding plant schedule listing the new plants and plant images for the borders.

Tendering & Project Inspections

Following on from the full detailed design, the Client can either use the design drawing package to progress with the project themselves or to appoint their own landscape contractor or we can assist with the tendering process and can continue to be involved right through the build to completion.

We can produce a full specification for the garden build including scope of works and bill of quantities, we can help find a suitable Landscape Contractor and can be involved in the tendering process if required. Site visits during construction help ensure the garden build is carried out in accordance with the design.

Planting Service

Following a planting design package we can source the plants if required and can set them out in their planting positions, if the planting is to be carried out by others.

We can also arrange for the planting to be carried out either by ourselves or by suitable landscape contractors. Many Clients are keen to be involved in this part of the process and we are happy to plant alongside the Client answering any questions on the way!

This is a great start if you are simply looking for some advice and design ideas at an initial meeting and is also a good option for more limited budgets. Whether you have a completely blank canvas or an existing garden that isn’t working for you, whatever the size, we can help!

The Consultancy Visit fee is based on an hourly rate plus travel costs and start from £150. The cost for this would be confirmed depending on location.

If you are interested in one of the design packages, I am happy to visit to discuss your requirements and how I can help, bringing along a portfolio of previous design examples to the initial consultation meeting. Local visits are usually free of charge but there may be a charge for this meeting to cover travel costs for gardens that are further afield.

Detailed design packages generally start from £850 and depend on the size, complexity and location of the garden as well as the extent of the design work involved. A fee estimate for the detailed design package would be provided following the initial consultation meeting.

Once the layout of the garden is finalised a fee estimate can be provided for the planting design package as this will depend on the extent of planting.

Similarly the fee estimates for the specification package, tendering process and site visits during construction can be confirmed at this stage and the fee estimate for the planting service can be provided once the planting design is finalised. However, I can provide an approximate idea of the costs for each of these services at an earlier stage.
